Steam Traction World Builds

As the largest and most successful supplier of ready machined kits Steam Traction World (STW) engines are a staple of the steam rally circuit and we are big fans of their products here at Legacy Vehicles. When built properly the full range proves to be strong performers offering owners countless hours of enjoyment both in the build process and when in steam.

STW has given countless people the opportunity to build their own steam engine however despite best intentions it is not uncommon for a build to stall. Here at Legacy we are happy to take on your STW project at any stage and progress it is a far a you would like us to including all the way through to a fully finished and tested engine. 

We would be pleased to work with owners and do a joint build, unlike some other companies we are happy to be flexible and work with you rather than insisting on doing the full job. 

For people who have finished their build we can provide a full check-over service and help with any final jobs such as setting the valve timing and arranging a steam test. Engines can also be bought to our premises for full tuition to ensure safe and enjoyable steaming in the future for less experienced owners.
