4" Modelworks Burrell - As New

"On behalf of the owner we are pleased to offer for sale this virtually new Modelworks Burrell Traction Engine.

We say virutally new as although it was completed in 2009 it spent 11 years as a display piece in the original owners country home. Before going on display it was only run on compressed air so the boiler had never seen steam or water.

The current owners purchased the engine in September, they are experienced kit builders having completed other engines to very high standards. The engine has since been carefully gone through and now steams and runs very well. It comes steam and hydraulic tested so is ready for the new owners to enjoy straight from collection/delivery.

For those who are not aware, Modelworks were the precursor to Steam Traction World and as such the vast majority of parts are interchangeable with the STW traction engine. These early Modelworks boilers have copper tubes fitted which should outlast the newer design with steel tubes.

Due to the owners location and current covid restrictions in their area, private collection is difficult to arrange at the moment, as such the engine is offered for sale via our remote brokering service. What this means for the buyer is the engine is delivered to you and payment is transferred via Legacy Vehicles to the seller but only after you have had the chance to inspect the engine and confirm you are happy with it. If prefered the engine can be delivered to our premises in Suffolk and we would be happy to offer tuition for a small extra charge.
