4" Garrett New Build Traction Engine

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this very well built 4” Garrett Traction Engine, recently completed and only steamed a handful of times the engine is in as new condition and ready for a new owner to enjoy.

We always like having a Garrett in at Legacy, they come out a large and robust engine and are slightly less common the equivalent scale Burrell or Foster. This one is particularly well made, bought part built a number of years ago the builder who finished it was an engineer by trade. The engine still feels new and tight (in the good way) and will get better and better as she gets used and runs in.

The CE marked steel boiler was manufactured by AJBs and is water fed through a crank driven pump and steam injector. It can be run up to 150psi however this makes it a lively beast and so has been set up to run at 120psi which is what it will be tested to. The boiler will come fully inspected by an independent boiler examiner for the new owner.

As with all our ready to rally engines it comes with a full set of firing irons, coal, oil, extension chimney and a days tuition included. Part exchange of all steam and vintage vehicles welcomed.
