4" Burrell SCC. Ready for paint
On behalf of the owner we are pleased to offer for sale this brand new and well put together Burrell Single Crank Compound Road Locomotive built from Steam Traction World kits. The engine is in running order and only requires painting to finish which we are happy to quote for and undertake for the new owner. For inspiration we have included pictures of a couple of other SCCs we have completed.
The engine has been professionally built by L.R Crowther Heritage Engineering and has included a number of "upgrades" from the standard STW offering including Foster style ratchet lubricator, 4 chime whistle, new drain cocks and Holroyd injector. The engine has only been steamed a handful of times for testing purposes and most of the new engine niggles seem to have been ironed out. We had a pleasant afternoon steaming the engine in our yard where it performed very well and ran nicely with the only noise being a slight "tick" from the reverser in the quadrant.
As with all Steam Traction World engines the boiler is CE marked and comes with the relevant certification. It will be sold fully hydraulic and steam tested by an independent inspector so if desired the engine could be run a is at the final few events of the year then painted over the winter.
The current price from Steam Traction World for this model is over £20,500 so without putting too fine a point on it this engine is a bargain! We would be happy to undertake finishing the engine to the new owners specification and estimate the final cost of the engine fully painted to be circa £23,000.
Although painting is required the engine is in running order and will be sold with all the accessories and extras our normal "ready to rally" offerings are supplied with including, coal, oil, extension chimney, firing irons and a days tuition if required. We are able to offer UK wide delivery and export if required and happy to consider all steam and vintage vehicles part exchange.
