3" Burrell Traction Engine

We are pleased to offer for sale this particularly well made and striking 3” Burrell. The engine is in as-new condition having only been steamed for testing purposes.

The engine was built by an experienced model engineer, this was his first and only foray into road steam, as such build quality and finish of machining is to a high standard. She was only briefly run on compressed air before being put on display for many years before it arrived with us. She has now been through the workshop and is ready to be either enjoyed in steam or back on display. The glass display cabinet is also included in the sale if desired.

The well-made copper boiler has been given a clean bill of health by an independent boiler inspector. Like most of these 3” Burrells she steams quickly and freely and is water fed by a steam injector and crankshaft driven pump.

The engine is supplied ready to run with firing irons, coal, oil and tuition included. We have not currently got a suitable driving trolley for it but will keep an eye out.
