3" Allchin Traction Engine

We are pleased to offer for sale this 3” Allchin “Royal Chester”, it is the first of this type we have had in and fair to say for a 3” engine she is quite a lump standing bigger and heavier than even the 3” Marshall we also have in at the moment.
The engine is fitted with a commercially made steel boiler which has just undergone a full ten-year inspection and hydraulic with an independent boiler inspector, water feed is through a crank driven pump and hand pump.
The engine is an older model but runs very nicely having had a lot of work done to her by the previous owner who has over recent years embarked on sort of a mechanical rolling restoration. It would be fair to say if you want a piece of model engineering excellence, she probably isn’t for you but for someone who wants a nice solid engine for enjoying around the rally field than it could be ideal. Paintwork is still presentable but showing signs of age, if ours we would probably enjoy it for this years rally season then re-paint over the winter which would transform the engine and also add a bit of value.
The Allchin comes ready to rally with a driving trolley, firing irons, coal, oil and tuition included. As always we are happy to consider part exchange of all steam and vintage vehicles.
