When it comes to pre-war bikes the Rudge Special is arguably one of the best, modern for its time the bike is a handsome machine that reportedly rides better than almost all its contemporaries.

Its fair to say if you are considering adding the Rudge to your collection you already know some of the companies history and about the bikes but for those who dont, classic motorcycle magazine have done an in-depth write-up here https://www.classicmotorcycle.co.uk/rudge-special-1938/

This bike has undergone an extensive restoration and now requires final setting up and fettling. We have started the bike, it fires into life quickly and sounds lovely however we havent gone much further mainly because not being an experienced rider I dont want to risk dropping it! The only major-ish job we think it needs is to sort an oil leak from the crankcase, fortunately Rudge spares are readily available from a couple of suppliers so a new gasket should be easily found.

We recommend coming to view the bike and we would be happy for the potential buyer (assuming they are competent) to have a tinker with the bike and make sure it is what they are looking for.
