Why not make good use of your time and build your own Traction Engine? The price of this engine includes delivery to the UK mainland via a pallet delivery service. It will be dispatched by the private seller however, for your peace of mind, payment can be made through Legacy Vehicles. Alternatively one of the professional model engineers we regularly use has quoted a price for building the engine and you could have a brand new engine all steam tested and ready to rally for around £15,000 in roughly 3 months.

For those who are not aware, Modelworks were the precursor to Steam Traction World as such the vast majority of parts are interchangeable with the STW traction engine. A few of the kits have been started, with the work done to a high standard however, the large majority remain untouched. The owner has been through all the boxes and confirms, as far as he can tell, all parts required are there to complete the build.

These early Modelworks boilers have copper tubes fitted which should outlast the newer design with steel tubes. The Modelworks chimney were originally the wrong size and too small a diameter, the correct design from STW is included with this set of kits. All necessary paperwork for the boiler and build instructions are also included.
