4.5" Foden C-Type

We are pleased to offer for sale this well sorted 4.5" Foden C-Type, built up from John Rex castings and boiler rather than the more common offering from Steam Traction World this engine offers someone an impressive model that has seen little use.

Although started a number of years ago the engine only entered service last summer, it was rallied at a number of events and all the "new engine niggles" have been ironed out so she is ready for this years rally season which is almost upon us (hurrah!). The Foden is now only up for sale as the owner is looking to move up to 6".

The John Rex, CE marked boiler comes with original build certification and has been tested under the model engineering club scheme. It is water fed by a the usual crank driven pump. steam injector and additionally a rather useful handpump. Safety valves are the efficient pop-type for clean shut-off and operation. The cylinder is the double-high arrangement which in this scale we find considerably more useable than the compound variations.

As with all our ready to rally engines it comes with a full set of firing irons, tube brush, extensions chimney, coal, oil and a days tuition included. Although not currently registered for the road we would be happy to help the future owner with this.
