4" Fowler Showmans - New Boiler Fitted

We are pleased to offer for sale this 4" Fowler R3 Showmans engine, built to the Plastows "Princess" design it comes out an impressive and handsome model. Originally built with a copper boiler it has just had this replaced with a new CE-marked steel boiler and comes fully tested and ready to rally.

Completed in the early 2000s the Fowler was was built and finished to a high standard, the paintwork is original but being applied properly in the first place has stood the test of time well and still looks very smart and cleans up nicely.

The new steel boiler has meant the working pressure has been up'd to 150psi from the original 90psi limit by the copper boiler, this makes for a much improved engine and more useable engine. Water feeds are through the usual crank driven pump and steam injector.

While being re-boilered the engine also had various works done on the top end including new little end bushes and glands all re-packed. Although much work has been done we advise customers this is not a brand new engine and not to expect as such.

Overall a lovely engine which is ready for many future years of rallying and enjoying. As with all our ready to rally engines it comes with a full set of firing irons, tube brush, extenstion chimney, coal, oil and a days tuition if required. Where possible we are happy to consider all steam and vintage vehicles part exchange.
