A rather lovely and well sorted example of the 4" Burrell Traction Engine from Steam Traction World with water bowser/driving seat. Completed around 10 years ago by the owner, the engine remains in fine fettle having been clearly well cared over the years.
Having had a pleasant afternoon steaming around the yard this engine just ticks all the boxes, it steams freely, has buckets of power and simply gets on with the job with no fuss. As you can imagine we see a lot of 4" Burrells come through the door and I jumped off this one with the exclamation "shes a goodun" to the other lads in the yard.
I say Steam Traction World as this is better known nowadays but the kits were originally supplied by the companies previous incarnation of Modelworks, for all intents and purposes the engines are the same with pretty much all parts interchangeable meaning for furfure maintenance any spares can be ordered from STW.
These earlier kits were supplied with boilers from Cope Engineering, the big advantage with these is they are fitted with Copper tubes so if looked after should last the life of the boiler. The boiler is having a full 10-year inspection with hydraulic and steam test this week with an independent inspector so will come fully ticketed for the new owners peace of mind. Boiler working pressure is 120psi and water feed through the normal arrangement of a crank driven pump and steam injector.
The engine is being sold ready-to-rally with a full set of firing irons, tube brush, coal, oil and a days tuition included. Where possible we would be happy to consider all steam and vintage vehicles part exchange.
For further information or to arrange a viewing please do not hesitate to contact us, we cant see this one hanging around for long!
Important Note: We recommend when purchasing any steam vehicle to employ the services of your own boiler inspector for independent advice and not solely rely on previous test reports.
