We are pleased to offer for sale this well put together and nicely presented Steam Traction World Burrell Single Crank Compound. Only a few years old the engine is a proven performer on the rally field and is ready to pick up and enjoy.

Completed in 2021 the engine has a number of nice little modifications over the standard kit design such as a hose connection for filling the belly tank and a large access hatch to the rear tender, much of the top works has also been nickel plated making for not only a nice finish but means the exposed metal is easy to maintain and does not rust.

As is the normal arrangement on the boiler is water fed by crankshaft driven pump and a steam injector. Boiler inspection has been undertaken by the owners model engineering club and comes with all the relevant documentation. Model engineering clubs work on a different scheme to commercial inspectors with a reduced interval between hydraulics however unlike commercial inspectors it does not require the boiler lagging removing on every occasion. The engine comes with all the necessary blanking plugs and plates to make the "squeeze" a relatively quick and painless task.

The SCC makes for an interesting model and sits nicely between the single cylinder traction engine and double crank road locos. They drive in a very similar way to the standard single cylinder version but with the added benefit of more power, improved efficiency and some extra weight over the front end. With the addition of the belly tanks there is little chance of this engine "popping a wheelie" even with the stoutest of drivers.

The Steam Traction World kits are highly regarded and when put together properly produce really capable engines. For owners without workshop facilities you have the piece of mind that virtually all the spares are available off the shelf from Steam Traction World. The engine comes with all the build instructions and kit paperwork.

The Burrell comes complete with a complete set of firing irons, extension chimney, coal, oil and days tuition included if necessary, It is also road registered. Where possible we would be happy to consider all steam and vintage vehicles part exchange, UK wide delivery and export can also be arranged if required.

Important Note: We recommend when purchasing any steam vehicle to employ the services of your own boiler inspector for independent advice and not solely rely on previous test reports.
