3" Fowler Showmans R3

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this impressive and well built 3" Fowler R3 Showmans Road Loco. To go with the engine a scale living van and traction wagon are also available.

Completed in 2009 the Fowler comes out a handsome and substantial engine, the engine received a full re-paint in recent years and has been well maintained in its current ownership. The engine is a strong performer and we were impressed by just how easy it is to get along with, much of this can be explained by the cylinder arrangement which is double-high rather than compound. On the road the engine gets on well and can comfortably at around 5mph, even with the trailers and passengers there is little need to drop down from top gear. The engine road registered.

The steel boiler is reported to be in sound condition and all recent inspections have been undertaken by a respected independent inspector. It runs at 135psi and water feed is through an injector and crank shaft driven pump.

Included with the sale is the driving trolley, full days tuition, coal, oil, firing irons and a 12 volt blower.

The traction trailer and living van are available separately for £1500 each or complete package with the engine for new price of £18,000.
