3" Foden Steam Lorry

We are pleased to offer for sale this nicely modelled 3” Foden C-Type, having underwent extensive work to the motion recently the engine runs well and offers a nice opportunity for someone make their own.

At almost 6ft long the Foden comes out a good size engine and one of the only 3” engines you can sit on, negating the need for separate driving trolley. Like most scale Fodens it has a double high cylinder arrangement and 3 speeds. The top works have recently had a full overhaul including new pistons, it is worth noting there is a slight wobble on flywheel, but this does not effect the running of the engine in anyway.

The well-made copper boiler comes with previous history from model engineering club testing and will come fully tested by and independent examiner (including hydraulic) before sale.

Due to its age the body work could do with some tiding up in places which makes it the perfect time to adorn with our own livery and sign-writing as is the case with most miniature steam wagons.
