3" Burrell T.E.

We are pleased to offer for sale this well sorted example of the popular 3" Plastows Burrell, supplied as a complete ready to rally outfit it is a great starter engine for someone to enter the hobby. We have had a fair few of these in over the years and they are a great little engine which more than hold their own on the rally field.

This one is fitted with a commercially made steel boiler which is reported to be in good condition with healthy plate thicknesses throughout. Water feed is through the standard arrangement of mechanical water pump and steam injector. Boiler testing has been done on the commercial rather than club scheme with the last hydraulic test in 2021, it will come with a fresh annual steam test.

The engine is in good condition throughout and runs well with plenty of power. It comes with all the usual accessories including firing irons, extension chimney, electric blower, coal, oil and a days tuition included as well. The driving seat with the caster wheel works particularly well and is one of the best arrangements we have seen on this size of engine. It is also road-registered.
