Originally completed in 2008 this cracking little engine has recently received an attractive new coat of paint, mechanically overhaul and fresh hydraulic test and is ready and raring for another 10 enjoyable years on the rallyfield, albeit with the lucky new owner.

The work of an experienced professional engineer whose accomplishments also include, but not limited to, three 6″ Showmans engines (one of which we also have advertised) the engine is built to a very high standard and runs particularly well.

Started in 2004 the engine is a replica of Foster 3002 of 1904, using works photographs and drawings the builder has tried to keep as close to the original as possible with features such as a custom built pressure gauge and Penberthy injector imported from America.

Castings for major components came from well known pattern maker and castings supplier Dave Ragsdale. Boiler is of fully welded construction by TRS Boiler Makers of Derbyshire.

The engine is road registered and normally attends events under her own steam, on route 7mph is a comfortable speed. Weighing only 6 tons you have many options if you choose to use a lorry for transport.

The engine is located with the owner/builder in Tyne and Wear and advertised by Legacy Vehicles Ltd.
