On behalf of the owner we are pleased to offer for sale this Lykamobile steam car. Built to a high standard, the Lyka arrived in finsihed but un-steamed condition with us being entrusted with the final commissioning and steam testing which has all been completed succesfully.

This car is the new design from Steam Traction World, often known as the "Lyka 2" on first impressions you would think little has changed from the earlier series but underneath there has been a whole list of improvements including:
- The car is slightly wider and has a wider seat meaning two people can actually sit comfortably on it now.
- The upgraded valve gear design as standard on the engine
- All the troublesome electrics have been replaced with simple yet effective sight glasses
- Burners run on diesel rather than heating oil
- Improved pressure switches for a much quick response time.
- New boiler design,

The new boiler design is by far the biggest improvement on the Lyka 2, it is now a standard vertical tubed which unit has considerably larger water capacity/steam capacity. This makes for a much more relaxed driving experience with the water level being much easier to sustain and balance against the pressure when on the move. The new design also makes future maintenance much easier and future proofs it somewhat, the old design was basically unrepairable should a tube pop or something whereas the new one is the same as any other vertical steam boiler just with a diesel burner rather than a coal fire underneath.

Overall we have been really impressed with this new Lyka, it is an an all round much more usable car than the old design without loosing any of the original charm. The party trick of turning on the burner and being in steam in 20 mins or so is still one of our favourite features and means a quick fire up and run out for the afternoon isn't a full event like it is on a coal fired steam engine.

Important Note: We recommend when purchasing any steam vehicle to employ the services of your own boiler inspector for independent advice and not solely rely on previous test reports.
