4" Foster New Build Traction Engine

On behalf of the owners we are pleased to offer for sale this very well-built 4” Foster, completed last year and only steamed a handful of times the engine is presented in as new condition.

Finished by a well-known steam engineer and prolific builder of model steam engines (this one being about his twentieth) the engine runs as sweetly as you would expect from someone with this amount of experience. She steams well and is an easy engine to get a long with making it ideal for someone new to engine ownership or those looking to move up a scale.

The commercially made boiler is water fed by a crank driven pump and steam injector and comes fully inspected by an independent boiler inspector.

The Foster is a popular and well proven design, they come out a large and powerful engine which are great for pottering around the rally field but also get on well on the evening road runs. Its fair to say they are a common engine but because of this very few new ones come to the market.

The Foster comes ready to rally with all required accessories including firing irons, extension chimney, coal, oil and a day’s tuition also included. Part exchange of all steam and vintage vehicles considered when possible.
