4" Burrell Traction Engine. LSM.

We are pleased to offer for sale this pleasant 4" Burrell Traction Engine, originally built in the early 1990s the engine has had hardly any use since completion having spent many years in storage before recently being recommissioned for use.

The engine has been built to a high standard throughout and as you can hear on the videos runs very nicely, its just an all round good, honest engine which is a pleasure to steam and drive.

The boiler is reported to be in sound condition and just received a fresh hydraulic and steam test under the model engineering club scheme. According to the test book it has only had one previous steam test in 2001 which looking at the mechanical condition of the engine all ties up with the history we have been told. The boiler is water fed by a crankshaft driven pump, steam injector and hand pump.

Paintwork wise it was originally done to a good standard and is still more than presentable but with a couple of areas which have been touched in. We think a day or two finishing off the lining on the boiler barrel and rear wheels would be time well spent.

The engine comes ready to rally with all the normal bits and bobs including extension chimney, firing irons, coal, oil and a days tuition included. For further information or to arrange a viewing please do not hesitate to contact us.
