We are pleased to offer for sale an engine we literally know inside out as we have just competed an extensive overhaul and repaint on it, as such the engine is presented in excellent condition throughout and is ready to provide many years happy rallying for the new owner.

Its fair to say the 4" Steam Traction World Burrell is one of our bread and butter engines with them regularly coming through the door then more often than not going back out again in a matter of days! They are popular for good reason as when built properly make an excellent choice for someone looking for a 4" Traction Engine and with the huge stock of spares kept at STW in Daventry means maintenance doesn't have to be done by an engineer but anyone who knows there way around a set of spanners.

The engine has been finished using Craftmaster Paints throughout and the overhaul required the fitting of many new parts including, full piston assembly, new crosshead and little-end, foster style ratchet lubricator, 4 chime whistle plus a number of bearings and bushes. Our rebuilds involve taking the engine down to a bare boiler so we know every part has been off and checked. For the eagle eyed among you the governors ball assembly is missing in the photos but now been fitted.

The boiler is reported to be in good condition throughout and has just had a fresh annual steam test, the 10 year thorough and hydraulic inspection was done last year. Water feed is through the crankshaft driven pump and a reliable steam injector.

For further details or to arrange a viewing please do not hesitate to contact us. Part exchange of all steam and vintage vehicles considered and UK wide delivery and export or available.

Important Note: We recommend when purchasing any steam vehicle to employ the services of your own boiler inspector for independent advice and not solely rely on previous test reports.
