4" Burrell Traction Engine

We are pleased to offer for sale this particularly well built 4" Burrell Traction Engine, since completion the engine has had minimal use and is ready to rally and enjoy.

Built by a time served engineer the fit and finish of the engine throughout is to a high standard. We see quite a few of the LSM design Burrells and this one is certainly one of the best we have had in, nothing is particularly flashy but going by the feel of the engine you know its a good one....I appreciate this is a somewhat wishy washy statement but hopefully you catch my drift.

The boiler has been built to a high standard and comes with all the relevant material paperwork and welders certificates. It has been tested under the Southern Federation Club scheme since new and we would be pleased to discuss future testing options with the new owner. Water feed is through a crank shaft driven pump and reliable steam injector.

Driving the engine is an enjoyable experience with the floating seat arrangement preventing any wheelies! It is a free-steaming engine which is easy to get along with.

It comes ready to rally with a full set of firing irons, coal, oil and a days tuition included. We would be happy to consider all steam and vintage vehicles part exchange.
