On behalf of the owner we are pleased to offer for sale this well presented and restored Morris Commercial Fire Engine. The Merryweather Mahogany body and water pump is fitted to a Morris CS chassis.

The appliance was originally owned by the Greene King Brewery, Bury St Edmunds and supplied new to them in 1936, it remained with the brewery its full working life until being sold for scrap in 1961. For those interested in local history the Greene King fire service was better known as the Westgate Fire Brigade and was formed in 1888, it served the Brewery and local area for 110 years before ending in the late 1990s.

Saved from scrap in 1975 it was extensively restored between 1977 and 1980 by the current owners. It has been kept in very good mechanical and working condition and as shown in the pictures comes much of the equipment that was originally carried.

Having owned the fire engine for over 40 years the owner feels its now time to pass onto someone who can enjoy it as much as they have.
