Oshkosh recovery truck "the big cat"
1968 Barlow OshKosh Recovery Truck "THE BIG CAT"
A seriously impressive truck ready for show or to go back to work commercially. It was originally supplied as a 5th Wheel tractor unit for hauling loads of up to 85 tons in South Africa.
It was returned to Barlow OshKosh for rebuild and conversion which included installation of the crane, 35 ton boughton winch and land anchor.
"The Big Cat" is named after its 400hp Caterpillar engine and the paintwork carries images of its namesake professionally painted on the paneling. This is a very powerful lorry with massive winching and pulling capacity, whether used for work or play it gathers a lot of attention for its power, presence and quality of restoration.
The chassis and engine number are available for those genuinely interested.
Viewing and inspection welcomed.
