A rare and handsome lorry this Leyland Comet is the oldest known example being manufactured in the first year of production. Originally owned by Castle Brewery, Newark on Trent the lorry was sold in 1962 to the father of the current owner and has been in the family ever since.

Extensively restored 20 years ago the lorry has been exhibited and used for pleasure but has also earnt its keep working for the families coal business delivering coal to engines at steam rallies across the country.

The lorry is virtually rust free and completely solid, she has been well cared for since restoration as such the paintwork still comes up really well. Mechanically spot on, the engine, gearbox and complete drive train have been rebuilt so she fires up straight away and drives better than you would expect from a 70 year old lorry. The only area requiring some TLC is the cab interior...it is a coal lorry after all.

The Comet will come with spare axles, engine, gearbox and vacuum brake box.

Viewing and inspection welcomed for genuinely interested parties.
