On behalf of the owners we are pleased to advertise this fantastic project Marshall 83704, a ten-ton single cylinder example with radial valve gear. The engine originally worked for Fromby UDC and was purchased directly from them by the owners Grandfather in the 1960s.

The roller was taken off the road in the early 1980s for what we assume was just a new set of tubes as apart from the front end not much has been removed. Unfortunately the work was never finished and the engine has spent many years safely stored under protective cover. The engine now offers a new owner a rare opportunity to take on a restoration but one that should only require minimal boiler work.
A preliminary boiler inspection has been done by independent inspector which indicates the major work required is a new tube plate and set of tubes. A copy of the report is available and further inspection would also be welcomed Other works required to the boiler include:
- Further assessment of the inner firebox condition once tubeplate has been removed, visual/NDT. (thickness readings look promising)
-Assess and if necessary repair all mud door holes & fit overhauled or new mud doors as required.
- Reface all mounting faces & fit new studs.
- Full compliment of overhauled protective devices and boiler fittings to be fitted.

We do not have much more information on this one so we hope the pictures offer some answers. Of course please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can help with.

Viewing is welcomed by genuinely interested parties. Some further photographs of the removed parts are available on request.Fro

Important Note: We recommend when purchasing any steam vehicle to employ the services of your own boiler inspector for independent advice and not solely rely on previous test reports.
